Everywhere your eye looks at Dar Darma there is something exquisite for it to fall upon - and there are many. Originally built in the 18th century, the property has been reconfigured into six suites. Rooms are decorated with a level of individual detail that is almost heart-breaking. Distressed walls are layered with metallic stripes. The finest of vintage standard lamps perch alongside the fat bulges of gloriously decorated vases. The cleverness of contrasts throughout is astounding. This same level of attention shows up in the personalised, traditionally Moroccan service where lunches and dinners are prepared on request. A private zone of tranquillity, it is rather hard to believe the bustling souk is a step outside the front door.
